What exactly is PoE ?

PoE (Power over Ethernet) transmits both electrical power and network data through the same cable. The WiPower® Pro converts a standard mains connection into a PoE signal, which is then sent through an Ethernet cable to your camera or access point.

Is it compatible with my camera or access point ?

The WiPower® Pro follows the PoE standard with 1/2+, 3/6- wiring and a 52V output. Most standard PoE devices are compatible, but we recommend checking your device’s power requirements before purchasing.

Which cable should I use ?

A Cat6 Ethernet cable or higher, using unshielded twisted pair, is required to achieve 2.5Gbps speeds and the maximum 100-metre range.

Can the unit be installed outdoors ?

The injector itself connects to a 110–240V mains outlet and is designed for indoor use or installation in a protected enclosure. Only the Ethernet cable running to the camera or access point is intended for outdoor use.
